Tyrell Pratt is a Senior Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Sciences (medicine track) student in the School of Integrated Health Sciences. Preceding his academics at UNLV he graduated from the College of Southern Nevada with an Associates of Science. You may also see him at Nevada State University as he takes his upper division chemistry courses there. Clinically he volunteers as a EMT in a rural community just outside of the Las Vegas area. He is part of the UNLV rebel judo club where he is a green belt. His research projects have focused on glial cell correlation to Alzheimer’s Disease using pathway polygenic risk score analysis and sleeping phenotypes roles in neurological and psychological disorders using mendelian randomization. His current goals are to gain admission to medical school and become a physician. A long-term goal inspired by his own non-traditional background is to establish a program that provides former and current police officers, firefighters, and EMTs with access to funding, internships, and mentorship opportunities to support their undergraduate and graduate studies.
